STEP 2 – Instructions to install and transfer map to your GPS using Garmin Basecamp. Please install Basecamp on your computer by clicking the icon. Garmin Basecamp is used to manage maps for your GPS unit and must be installed on your computer before you view and transfer your map to your GPS. STEP 1 – Download/Install Garmin Basecamp Legacy Version 4.2.5 When I attach the same device to Basecamp, Basecamp tells me I have EU and EU 3D installed, no mention of NA at all, please see second attachment.Below are instructions and links to help get your new maps loaded into your GPS unit. There's nothing there to indicate what's already on the device. GARMIN MAPINSTALL MANUAL PCI have the Zumo connected to MapInstall and it only appears to show me the map from the PC I select, please see the attached image. I don't think I'm following that as I just tried it and I can't see what you are referring to. It's not as helpful if you have several devices that you want the same selection for. So you could install one set of tiles, then reconnect the device and add or subtract some easily. MapInstall does read which maps you have installed on the device and draws them on the map. There's no 3D component for either and I'm not sure all of NA is on there. Western Alaska, Eastern Alaska, Honolulu, Hawaii, If, for example I wanted to install all of NA plus the 3D map on my Zumo how would I do that? I'm asking because I just tried to install those maps using MapInstall by selecting all of NA when I had that map selected and I'm not sure that's what it's done. If something is wrong with a map on a device (mainly with routing) and you created the image with MapSource, I'd try again with MapInstall to at least eliminate one possible point of failure. So the official recommendation is to use MapInstall, not MapSource. MapInstall supports nMaps (more than one supplemental map), without having to manually rename gmapsupp.img. MapInstall should also be faster in image creation and transfer (depending on the type of map and device) because of performance improvements we made. However, if you launch MapInstall from BaseCamp with data on the device, we will auto-select the tiles that you need to cover the data on the device (the data is also shown in MapInstall). The ability to save map sets is an interesting feature, but is not currently supported by MapInstall. They have been dozens of fixes since MapSource 6.16.3 was released. It might or might not work properly on the device. GARMIN MAPINSTALL MANUAL CODEI want to point out that the image creation code in MapSource is very dated. It's fine to use MapSource if you want, but do so at your own risk.
